Teacher: Level 3 Da Yan

Adrienne Roberts

Background:

Having severe rheumatoid arthritis for over 35 years, necessitating numerous hospitalisations and joint replacements, led Adrienne to begin Tai Chi and Qigong in 2003.

She became a qualified instructor of Dr Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Arthritis in 2005. Later she became interested in Medical Qigong while studying under Master Simon Blow, gaining his Levels 1, 2 and 3 Qigong teacher qualifications and Da Yan Wild Goose qualifications.

Adrienne has travelled to China three times with Simon on his study tours, studying Daoism, Guigen Qigong and Da Yan Wild Goose with Grand Master Chen. She also regularly attends Simon’s workshops and retreats to further her understanding and knowledge of Qigong.

Practising Tai Chi and Qigong have helped Adrienne to maintain wellness and increase strength and overall flexibility and mobility. Sharing the healing benefits of Qigong is the primary motivation for her providing classes to people.

Classes:

On Friday mornings, two classes are held at The Place (Charlestown Community Centre, corner of Frederick and Pearson Streets, Charlestown). There is a beginner’s class and a more experienced group.

On Monday mornings, a class is held at Merewether.

On Monday afternoons, a Da Yan Wild Goose class is held at The Place in Charlestown. As this group has been studying Da Yan 1 and 2 for several years, people interested in joining would need to already have some experience with this form of Qigong.
