Joanne Fabri
About:
Namaste, my name is Joanne, a Level 2 Qigong teacher with Master Simon Blow.
I am qualified to teach Taiji Qigong Shibashi, Ba Duan Jin, Wudang Longevity, Guigen Medical Qigong and meditation.
Other qualifications include Dr Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health programs, Aromatherapy Massage, Essential Oils Educator, Certificate in Counselling, and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. As a musician I enjoy writing songs, singing and including sound as a way of healing.
In my experience Qigong is a wholistic, gentle yet powerful practice that:
● strengthens the body
● improves functional living
● relaxes and creates new positive neural pathways for the mind
● opens our hearts, connecting us to each other and nature
● creates community
I love teaching and sharing the knowledge and practice that is Qigong. I believe our health is in our hands. The practice empowers us to be responsible for our own health as a way to manage and enrich our daily lives and relationships.
Background:
I came across Qigong in my early 20s as a young mother, looking for ways to relax and improve my overall wellbeing and pursue my interest in the human body, its intelligence and its innate ability to heal. I loved the flowing and rhythmic movements of Shibashi, how they made me feel and what the body taught me through my movements- where I was holding resistance and where I was flowing with life.
As a facilitator for teenagers who experienced behavioural challenges, I found the practice really helped them relax, calm and focus their minds and make better choices for their lives.
In 2011, I started teaching Tai Chi in aged care and a wellbeing centre for carers. I was reintroduced to Qigong in 2016. This reintroduction was the missing link I was looking for in understanding the magic of healing when our mind, body, heart and spirit connect with the life force energy (Qi) within.
From 2016 to date, I’ve established a business to share this gift of health with my community and live a healthy lifestyle.
Life is a journey of evolving and ascending into the best version of ourselves and I feel very grateful for this life and my teachers along the way.
Classes:
Classes are in the beautiful Jervis Bay/Shoalhaven area on the stunning South Coast of NSW, where I currently teach five classes a week, work 1:1 and share free introductory sessions with community organisations on the health benefits of Qigong. Online classes are available where there is a need.
We welcome you with open arms in our self-paced, inclusive and caring classes where together we create communities that thrive mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually in unity, balance, harmony and grace.
