Teacher: Level 3

Lesley Jenkins

About:

I’m Lesley Jenkins and I’ve been teaching Qigong since 2012.

Background:

I first learnt of and started practising Qigong in 1981. My first teacher was Pamela Timmers, who was among the first group of students trained at the Qigong Institute of Shanghai, China.

Over the years practice faded as life was so busy. Then in 2012 I reconnected with Qigong through Master Simon Blow’s teachings and went on to do my teacher training with him.

In 2015 I was lucky enough to travel to China with Master Simon Blow. We started each day at 6.30 am in a park, practising with a lot of people doing different forms of martial arts. It was an amazing experience- I am so grateful to Simon.

Classes:

I have run a class every Thursday morning since 2012. I love teaching Qigong- the joy it brings to people fills me with happiness too.

I usually start a class with Shibashi. This is the first form that I learned and it seems to be a good place to start with beginners. Then I go on to Ba Duan Jin, Wudang Longevity Form, and Liu He Gong, before working up to Guigen Qigong, a more complex form.

I teach through the University of the Third Age. So once people are a member, classes are only $2, which makes it possible for most people to come. Now I have more time I hope to start another class in Yungaburra on the Atherton Tablelands where I live.
