Cultivation Exercises Harmonising Heaven and Earth

The understanding of Qi and the development of Qi cultivation practices, or what we call Qigong, has a long and proud history in China. This body of knowledge has grown since ancient times from the indigenous people of China and their Daoist tradition. It has evolved to become an art and science, generating the foundation of what is recognised as the Chinese healing arts of acupuncture, acupressure massage, Chinese herbal medicine, Feng Shui, Qigong and Taijiquan.

The Six Unity Qigong comprises the health cultivation exercises taught to Simon at the Shanghai Qigong Research Institute in China. The word ‘Liu He’   translates and refers to the six directions around the person who exercises- upward, downward, east, west, south, and north. The implied meaning is that through the practice, the practitioner becomes an integral part of the universe, harmonising heaven and earth and unifying the body, intention, Qi, and spirit.

These gentle but powerful mindful movements will help calm the mind, reduce stress and anxiety, improve blood circulation, restore energy, increase strength and mobility, cleanse the body of toxins, clear inflammation, heat and stagnation, and create a positive state of wellbeing.

‘Every word and phrase in Simon's new book contains the cells of Chinese health and longevity mingled with specific colours of Australian culture. It is going to be a wonderful book for English-speaking Qigong practitionersProfessor Xu Feng, Shanghai Qigong Research Institute
